Caro's Book of Poker Tells
Mike Caro - 1984

Rating: 3 (Good)

This is the classic book about the body language of poker. Mike Caro (the "Mad Genius" of poker) categorizes and describes all the common tells exhibited by players at the table. The book has a ton of photographs to illustrate each situation. Be warned though, these pictures are from the 70's, and you'll see some rather amusing clothes and hair styles.

Even though I play most of my poker on-line, I found this book well worth the read. It introduced me to a facet of my game that I need to work on, if I ever plan on playing more live games and tournaments. The only bad thing that I have to say about it, is that most of the tells he talks about is whether or not someone is bluffing. In my experience, bluffing is not a very big part of Texas Hold'em, but it's still good information to have.
