A.K.A. - Tower, Ladder, Stack

7531 is one of the coolest looking 4-Ball tricks. It is one of the "Tower" patterns (531, 7531, 97531, b97531, db97531), where each ball is thrown at a lower height until all the balls are in the air at the same, in a vertical line. I love these patterns because when all the balls reach their apex at the same time, it looks like they pause in mid air before falling back down.

When you see a very good juggler perform these perfectly (Thomas Dietz comes to mind), it actually looks like a simulation, instead of live juggling. These patterns truly show off the accuracy of the siteswap throws.

Instructions:

Start by flashing the pattern. With two balls in each hand, make a very high throw with your right hand, followed by a medium high throw with your left. Then make a small cascade throw with your right, and finally a quick pass straight across from your left to right.

Now, try it out of the 4-Ball Fountain, then continue on with the fountain pattern. I actually think this type of trick looks better when just done once out of the regular pattern, instead of constantly running 7531.

Variations:

7531 Behind-the-Back - Any pattern that has a 1 siteswap (pass straight across from one hand to the other), you can do it using a behind-the-back pass. This is not to be confused with a behind-the-back throw. The behind-the-back pass is a bit harder than the regular pass, and it requires a faster hand speed. You may want to practice just the behind-the-back pass with one ball at first, until you feel comfortable with it.
