Fake Columns is just juggling two in one hand while moving a ball around held in the other hand. If you synchronize the two hands, it appears that you are juggling a 1-up 2-up columns pattern.
Instructions:
Of course, you must first be able to juggle 2-in-one-hand solidly.
Now, holding a ball in your other hand, just move it up and down in sync with the outside ball of the 2-in-one-hand. The closer you mimic the thrown ball with your hand movement, the better the pattern will look.
Variations:
Since your other hand is free to do anything, you can come up with all sorts of funny patterns. Sometimes the hard part is getting your brain to allow your hands to do different things (like patting your head and rubbing you belly at the same time).
