Difficulty: 1 - Basic Juggling
Siteswap: 3
Prerequisite Skills: Cascade
Watch Video - WMV - 0.9 MB
Sorry, no animation for this one. The simulator couldn't even beat a one-legged man in a butt-kicking contest.
Instructions:
Under-the-Leg is another simple trick that you can try shortly after you learn the basic cascade. All you do is lift a leg while you're juggling, and throw the ball underneath it, and continue with your cascade pattern. If you have a hard time with it, you may want to practice just making the under-the-leg throw without the juggling.
Variations:
You can make two types of under-the-leg throws. The one shown in my video is done by passing the ball under the outside leg (right hand under the right leg). The other way is to pass it under the opposite leg (right hand under the left leg).
It looks good when you alternate these two types. Try: right hand under right leg, right hand under left leg, left hand under left leg, left hand under right leg.
All of these under-the-leg tricks can also be performed while sitting. In fact, it's sometimes easier to do this trick while sitting on the edge of a chair.
