I'm sure you've all played with that guy that shows up to the poker night with no money, asking if he can borrow it or play on credit. What does he think this is, a casino, and we'll set him up with a marker?
Well, this guy comes to our little home game one night. But instead of cash, he pulls out a $100 Wal-Mart gift card. He claims that he's only used about $20 from it, so it's worth $80. He doesn't even act as if this is an unusual request.
We all busted out laughing, and after several minutes of giving him a hard time, we let him in the game. Luckily, he ended up breaking even, so he got his card back, and no one had to get paid with a gift card.
