Reappearing Straight

by pokder (UPF)

You think that's bad, here's something a friend of mine...ehem...I...did just last week.

It was the about 5am, towards the end of an 8pm NL home game, and the fact that I was too tired and too drunk to play didn't stop me. After this one i wished i wasn't playing... I was dealt QT spaids in late position. I limped in behind a few other players. The flop came KhJs9s.

"Wow, I flopped a straight flush draw", I think to myself. "so this is why i play these suited connectors..." There was quite a bit of action, so i called, chasing my straight flush until the river when it didn't come. MP went all-in for about $20. I have nothing, so I say, "I can't call" and I flip my cards to show what i was chasing.

My glazed-over, half-closed eyes stare at the board, and I realize that I just mucked the nut straight. Moral of the story- quit early in the evening, while you can still read the cards on the table.
